RANDWON KI BASTI

Out of the 2500-3000 students living on campus, a majority of them fall in the category of ‘Randwas’. The word Randwa finds its root in the hindi word ‘Randhwa’ which means a widower. But it is popularly used to describe the cult of people who are deprived of Girl-friends or in some acute cases even gals (leave aside girl friends, some of them have not even talked to a girl for ages). My first hindi literary composition throws some light on the lives of these brave young men who despite these adverse circumstances, manage to cling on to the foggiest ray of hope in their life that some day or the other one girl will come who will hold their fingers and walk them out of this basti – ‘Randwon ki Basti’. रण्डवों की बस्ती

परवान चढ़ा था सू्र्य मगर,

रण्डवों की बस्ती खाली थी।

ना शिकन किसी के चेहरे पे,

सबके गालों पे लाली थी ।।

था जोश सभी के सीने में

करदें आशिकों की हालत खस्ती।

रण्डवों की बस्ती, मस्ती ही मस्ती।।

थी बन्दी किसी के हाथ नहीं

पर Fight सभी ने मारा था ।

‘अपना हाथ जगन्नाथ’ के नारों से,

तब झूम उठा जग सारा था ।।

Cell में Balance पर्याप्त यहाँ,

ये दुनिया बड़ी है सस्ती ।

रण्डवों की बस्ती, मस्ती ही मस्ती।।

माँ-बाप की सीखों पे चलकर,

बचपन में लुटी जवानी थी ।

इन नयनों ने जिसको चाहा,

वो तो घर की नौकरानी थी ।।

समाज को जब ये पता चला,

मलीन हुई अपनी हस्ती ।

रण्डवों की बस्ती, मस्ती ही मस्ती।।

हो Job या फिर College दूजा,

उम्मीद नहीं हम हारेंगें ।

Secretary हो या हो Senior,

हम Fight उसी पे मारेंगें ।।

है प्रश्न यही सभी कर्णों में,

कब साहिल पाएगी ये कश्ती ।
